KCU Dental medicine Scholarship challenge

dental

Kansas City University's College of Dental Medicine will open in 2023 at the Farber-McIntire Campus in Joplin, Mo., with a class of 80 students. The new college will address significant and growing oral health needs in the four-state region of southwest Missouri, northwest Arkansas, northeast Oklahoma and southeast Kansas.

The Patterson Family Foundation has issued KCU a challenge: raise $1M for scholarships to help future KCU student dentists. The foundation will grant KCU $1 million to match $1 million raised by friends of KCU, resulting in a $2 million dental medicine scholarship endowment.

"Scholarships will allow KCU to recruit the best and brightest students for the College of Dental Medicine — especially those from rural communities and under-represented minority groups."
